How Do Invisible Watermarks Work?
Invisible watermarks alter the frequency or spatial domain of an image in ways that the human eye cannot perceive, but a computer algorithm can detect. They survive screenshots, compression, and cropping.
Our Disruption Methodology
To defeat invisible watermarks, our tool applies a cocktail of techniques:
- JPEG Artifact Simulation: Introducing controlled compression artifacts.
- Micro-rotation and Scaling: Shifting the image by less than 1% to misalign the watermark grid.
- Frequency Domain Noise: Injecting imperceptible noise into the specific frequency bands used by SynthID and Steganography tools.
